We now have a IoP Video Channel with lots of informative videos for you to view. New and returning students please ensure you have watched the Using The Photography Stores and the IoP Covid Secure videos which include information on some of the changes we have had to make over the last few months. There is also an IoP Welcome Video 2020 for new students to find out more about our technical resources.
Due to the circumstances of the last few months we have had to make a few changes. Firstly you will have noticed the change to our opening hours, which has been implemented University wide. When you arrive here in the IoP you will also notice our Photography Stores are now split over three separate locations (equipment pick up, equipment return and facilities). Please follow the signs for these areas. All Facility bookings can only now be booked 7 days in advance and some of these have to be booked via a separate system. Please see the details on this below.
What’s changed with bookings?
From 21st September, you will need to use your new Falmouth Stores account to find and book technical spaces.
Some of these were ‘walk up and use’ spaces last year. In order to allow you all to access the spaces fairly with our reduced capacities this year, you will need to book your time in advance.
At the Institute of Photography (IoP), this is for all bookings Monday to Friday 8.30 am – 10pm, and for Saturday bookings 9am – 5pm.
Which spaces does this include?
At IoP, this includes:
The Machine Process Room
Photo Studios in Peter Lanyon and on Kernick Industrial Estate
The Digi Suite and the Macs / PCs in the Hub (although you don't have to collect bookings from the Stores)
Where do I book?
Please click here to sign in to your account with your University login details. Select the Bookable Rooms store from the header. Use the Scheduling Chart to see when spaces are free; and use Find Space to browse and book. You can book a space up to 7 days in advance. You can also access the booking system via the student app.
What about equipment bookings?
Equipment bookings still need to be made in connect2, along with scanners and microscopes. Please make sure you have booked your space first in Falmouth Stores, then book your equipment in connect2.
